Since we've decided to "move" up to Payson, we have had to kind of ease into it. We opened our business here in the middle of town. We have a really nice retail location, and we are doing very good business here due to the overwhelming acceptance of the local folks. We decided to keep our Phoenix house, and use it on the occasions we return to visit. When in Payson, we are living in our RV. It's a nice RV, but an RV all the same. We could have parked it in the Oxbow campground, or many other local RV parks. Instead, we chose Juniper roost.
Juniper roost is a meticulously cared for and lovely 55 and over park model 'village' with about 6 spaces. The owners Gary and Katy are very nice and accommodating. After running a background check on both of us and subjecting us to an interview with many pointed questions, they made an exception regarding our age. They even stayed calm when we rolled into their property with a 35 ft 5th wheel sporting giant skulls on the sides. Katy even gave me some fudge and told me how much God loves us.
The first week we were here, it got super cold. Everyone warned us to protect our water hose cuz it would freeze, and get a space heater etc. Of course we did not take them seriously. Next thing you know our water lines were frozen for days, and Gary was doing all he could to help us fix it. We came home from work one day to find a mattress pad wrapped around our water spigot with duct tape and a huge mound of sand on to of it. That did the trick, so we just left it that way. Now, when our cat goes outside, she first stops at the mound to scratch and take a shit. Ahhh..Trailer life.
Now that it is warmer, even though it snowed last week, we haven't had any real problems with the RV. There is a national forest all around us, and I like to go hiking in the mornings. We have a big fat orange cat that we call Garfield who comes around for us to pet her. One morning Twyla (our Mexican hairless) was barking her head off. I opened the door and saw the tiniest sweetest little Yorkie who came over to check us out. Jon calls her little scooby. She lives in the giant pink house across the street where they wash their cars every day and keep weird chicken duck things that make tons of noise. There is this guy Duane who Jon always calls Darryl. He lives in a trailer up the hill and his fridge is outside. I think he's been here a while. He has this beat up old car that he parks on the corner and has been trying to sell forever. The front license plate say Duane and it has an American flag on the antenna. He's real suspicious that someone is trying to sabotage his efforts to sell it. Why else would it still be there? I mean he just painted the roof white and everything. Even has new tires.
Working 8 hours every day keeps us from spending much time in the trailer. On our days off we usually go to Phoenix anyway. Last weekend we went to stay at our house. We rented it to some great friends Dan and Anna. They let us keep our room until we find a house. We came home to find they had moved in nicely, and Anna was keeping the place spotless. I felt like I had been lacking in my housekeeping. She even made us pancakes!
We can't thank them enough for putting up with us. Not only did we stay there and bring two animals with us one of which who shit on the floor three times in the course of the weekend, but they tolerated a ten person impromptu BBQ, Bean're staying overnight in the garage, and us leaving a bike trailer in their driveway. We even forgot to use coasters. Hopefully we can stop taking over their place soon. I'm sure random people will still stop by though, but that's the joy of living in our house!
I decided to write about our living situation instead of my day because these are the two most interesting things that happened today:
One of my clients had me add a plug to a mac keyboard I tattooed on him so that he can "control alt delete" when he chooses. He also drank a beer out of a homemade coffee cup and left his dog in the back of his truck while I worked on him. He's pretty cool.
A local kid who hangs out at the shop all the time told me how his friend got struck by lightening and now its pretty hard for him to get electrocuted. He doesn't care if you threaten to taze him.
Tomorrow will be better.

This is my first blog entry ever and boy am I excited!
I have so much cool stuff happen to me all the time. My friends are all unique and interesting, some of them go above and beyond that. I have the best job in the world in my opinion... I mean, I get to draw all over people for money! They tell me the most unbelievable things without my even asking. My husband is someone I can say that I admire and aspire to be like. He is also a dirtbag biker tattoo artist who talks like a hillbilly and dances even more like one. All that being said, I figured I better write some of my experiences down because I don't even remember what I did yesterday.
I figured this was a good time to start seeing as AZ bike week is over, we are moved out of our Phoenix house (about to move into our new home soon), things at the tattoo studio are starting to get busier, and I just have more time. We have all kinds of plans this summer and after listening to a room full of people laugh hysterically at the handwritten journal I kept over our trip last summer, I think this will be easier for me to share. Ooh. First blogs are hard!

One Important thing is that amidst much of the chaos that is going on around me, I had time to make this flyer:
We are finally ready after being open for 4 months to have our grand opening party! We are hoping everyone will come enjoy the festivities. Cars, bikes, hot girls, BBQ meat, music...what else do you want?
Don't forget to show off your tattoos! You earned em! We will have a pre party at Kelly's Sweet Revenge in Star Valley AZ on april 30th. It is not going to suck.
